Is Ameriplan® the Same as Dental Insurance?
No. Ameriplan® is not insurance!! Ameriplan® is a discount plan and there is a big difference. Health and dental insurance “cover” you in the case you need to utilize the service. You present your insurance card to a provider who then charges you a co-pay. Your insurance company is then billed for the balance.
What is could be a 10 page paper on how that above process works because of the paper work and bureacratic mess that is our health care system is made so simple with Ameriplan®. You go to an Ameriplan® provider in our network, you present your Ameriplan® card, and pay a significantly reduced price at the time of service. That’s it. You save money. But no, it is not insurance.
