Effective April 24 of this year, the Ameriplan® fee schedule for the state of Louisiana has changed to the lime green code region for the entire state. When anyone from this state pulls up their fee schedule, it will refer to Ameriplan®’s lime green code for the prices and savings. It’s a minor change, but it will effect which brochures are used in that state.
In an article April 22, the USA Today published an article describing an old technology that that is gaining usage in the dentist office - lasers. Yes, lasers. These cutting devices using light power can make very accurate incisions and cuts for minor surgeries and fillings. The techniques of using lasers has been around for quite some time, but have never gained in popularity because it is not what is taught in schools, and it’s expensive.
But it seems, once they are used, the benefits are nice. If you can find a dentist that uses lasers you lucky. Lasers can eliminate the need for an anesthesia when drilling would be minor. The article talks about how 1 out of 10 patients can still feel the drill even after being numbed.
